Food container foil is suitable for further pressing into various shapes of food containers and their lids because of the range of mechanical properties available. Depending on the alloy and its treatment, alufoil can be made more brittle, tougher or more ductile to design different kinds and size offood trays, platters or containers.
Aluminium provides a total barrier and protects sensitive and valuable food from deterioration; It has unique mechanical properties as it is highly formable and can also be 'dead folded', which is beneficial when deep drawing and shaping containers; Aluminium is an excellent conductor of heat and at the same time is heat-resistant, allowing quick and controlled heating of the container's food content. The use of aluminium containers in microwave ovens is perfectly viable.
